Today, the Billhighway team is celebrating our ugly holiday sweater party. Will you be rocking an ugly sweater this holiday season? Let us know!
Enjoy your holiday!
This year, the Billhighway team are making the holidays a little more joyful by adopting a local family in need. The Billhighway team members donated clothing, linens, gift cards, food, cleaning supplies and more to a family in the Metro Detroit area, all wrapped up and ready to be put under the tree.
The Adopt-A-Family program was organized by the Community Housing Network in Troy, MI. This is the first year Billhighway has participated in the Adopt-A-Family program, however, we had such an overwhelming response from our team members that we will most definitely participate in this event again for years to come.
If you would like to participate in a similar program, please contact your city hall or your local Salvation Army or Goodwill Center for opportunities in your area.
This month is Movember aka No-shave November to raise awareness about getting tested for prostate cancer. Billhighway supports the 1 in 2 men that are diagnosed with cancer by wearing natural and very unnatural mustaches at our office.
For details on how to donate to this cause, please visit the Movember site. The money raised will help make a tangible difference to the lives of others, through the world’s most promising prostate cancer research and LIVESTRONG’s programs that support young adults and their families battling and surviving cancer.
For details on how the funds raised from previous campaigns have been used and the impact Movember is having please visit: http://us.movemberfoundation.com/research-and-programs/.

Guest blog post written by Katie Bludworth, marketing intern at Billhighway for the Fall 2010 semester.
I’m Katie and I’m the marketing intern at Billhighway for fall 2010. I’m writing this blog post to you from the comforts of the Billhighway offices, surrounded by the fantastic view of the changing colors of Troy and a large flat screen (which seems to be permanently tuned to ESPN).
When I first walked into the offices, I wasn’t sure what to expect – but this certainly wasn’t it. The laid-back attitude of the office as a whole makes it easy to feel comfortable in an otherwise intimidating atmosphere. Considering the wealth of knowledge the people around me have, I feel like I should continue my education for more than just the one year I have left of college; but with the friendly faces, sneakers and sweatshirts.
And that’s perhaps the best part of this internship – I’m not the coffee girl!
“I don’t run errands, I don’t make copies, I don’t fax papers, I work on legit projects that will be seen by clients.”
From my very first day, the entire team has done a great job of getting me involved in whatever was necessary. From being the face (and brains) behind a campaign for Tri Delta’s “Fat Talk Free” Week, to developing lists of clients and events for the company to attend, I’ve easily become integrated into the Billhighway team.
In such a short amount of time I’ve learned the most about what Billhighway does and how truly important the financial software market is for organizations worldwide. I’ve also learned about the marketing industry as a whole and that my years of surfing on the internet have taught me more about market research than I ever could have expected. Overall, I’ve learned what it’s like to be part of an industry that I’ve chosen to spend my educational career learning about and integrating into.

Being part of an internship has helped me figure out whether or not I’m on the right path in my life and I’m eternally grateful for that. For those of you who are reading this and considering an internship, I simply say – Do it, you won’t regret it.
If you have any advice for future interns, any comments, any questions – anything you’d like to say about interning at all, please comment below or tweet us!
If you are in the Metro Detroit area and would like to apply for our marketing internship for Spring, Summer and Fall semesters, please send your resume with subject line: Marketing Intern to jobs@billhighway.com.
